Tender management
The challenge
- Identify savings potential based on existing shipping volumes, locations, and current routes
- Compare budget figures to actual figures, simulate alternatives
- Redesign shipping contracts and award them based on specific quality criteria
- Analyze reliable data sources to find the optimal mix of cost savings and conversion costs at an achievable level of service
Tender management
Our solution
With tender management and contract management, the first step is to create a smart system that consolidates all calls for tenders and existing tenders with all master data. Using this harmonized data, shippers or even large logistics service providers can begin by running a comprehensive analysis of the network situation. This typically yields some immediate insights into potential optimization and for specific tenders.
The call for tenders – including all documents, matrices, and letters—is controlled from directly within the Supply Chain Suite. Analysis of the tenders received, including the what-if simulation using actual data, is also run from right within the Supply Chain Suite.
Once a tender has been accepted, a contract is automatically generated. Contracts are generated, issued, and archived from directly within the Supply Chain Suite as well. The result is that the entire process of both calling for tenders and handling contracts is managed with transparency in one place.
Tender management
The results
Uniform basis of data
Centralized, harmonized basis for data (master data, including historical shipping and contract data)
Standardized contract awarding
Transparent decision-making processes at all times thanks to ability to compare calls for tenders, the tenders received, and the contracts awarded
Identification of savings potential
Variance analysis, what-if simulations
Automated process support
Automated generation and archiving of contracts, centralized management of process for calling for tenders and handling contracts
